John Velez joined Independent Financial Group as an independent Financial Advisor in May 2016, bringing over 40 years of experience to the position. A graduate of Baruch College, John holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses plus state life and health insurance licenses.

John’s wife, Sheila, has been a big part of his life since 2004, and an important member of his wealth management practice since 2010. John is the former president of Roadrunners Toastmasters and the former chairman of membership for Congregation Or Chadash. He is a book collector and enjoys long distance running.
